Grace Marie Turlington

Grace Marie Turlington, 93, went to be with her Lord Friday, June 19th, 2026.

Funeral is 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 26th at First Baptist Church in Alvord with burial at Alvord Cemetery. Family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service at the church.

Ernie Patterson and Charles Reed will officiate. Pallbearers include Scott Redman, Terry Redman, Cody Parker, Ronnie Parker, Randy Hardee, and David Freeman. Honorary pallbearers include Shawn Parker, Eric Allen, Jeremy Allen, Joe Kyle Turlington, Zack Turlington, Justin Billy, and Michael McDaniel, and Will Turlington.

Grace was born May 31st, 1933 to Eulan Ernest and Esther (Jordan) Laster in Kirby, Arkansas. She graduated Linden High School and managed the Alvord Fina for many years. Grace was a member of Sunset Assembly of God Church. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend to many who will miss her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Ernest Laster, John Laster, Jack Laster and Phillip “Buddy” Laster; her sister, Betty Reed; her sons, James David Turlington, Jon Kirk Turlington, Joe Edd Turlington, and William Lynn Turlington; her daughter, Sandra Turlington; and grandchildren, Shawn Turlington, Zachary David Turlington, Kyra Hoover, and Trish Freeman.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Troy Turlington of Alvord, Patricia Payne of Frederick, Oklahoma, Raymond Turlington of Denton; her sisters, Ann Laster, and Vera Mae Humphrey; 1 brother, Jerry Laster; numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
