Gordon Ray Vess

Boyd - Gordon Ray Vess, 63, went to be with our Lord Tuesday January 10, 2023 in Decatur.

Graveside Service Thursday 2pm at Boyd Cemetery.

Tim Sipes will officiate. Pallbearers are Corey Vess, Anthony Lee, Jayson Baltazar, Isai Baltazar, Stephen Vess and Pedro Contreras.

Gordon was born May 8, 1959 to James and Mildred (Hatley) Vess in Decatur, Texas. He was united in marriage February 13, 1999 to Sherry Hale in Decatur. Gordon was self-employed roofer, a Christian and he graduated from Boyd High School. Gordon was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to many who will miss him dearly.

He is preceded in death by his parents James and Mildred Vess; 3 brothers, James Jr., Jerry and Dean; a sister Betty; granddaughter Yvette.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 24 years, Sherry Hale from Boyd; daughter, Whitney Baltazar and husband Isai, 3 sons; Brian Lee, Anthony Lee and wife Heather , Corey Vess and husband Stephen;7 grandchildren, Jayson, Michael, Selena, Korben, Radylynn, Tanner, and Tristian; 1 sister,Lavern;4 brothers, Darrell, Don, Royce, and Ronald; Numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
