DECATUR -- Glenn Mayfield, 73, of Decatur, went to be with our Lord Saturday, July 12, 2008, at his home.
Funeral: 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Church of Christ in Boyd. Burial: Sand Hill Cemetery. Family will receive friends before the service from 12 PM to 1 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Bro. Sam Starr will officiate. Pallbearers: Cory Schwenn, Paul Bowles, Tommy Thompson, Jackie Davis, Leddy Foster, David McCalab. Honorary pallbearer: John Berry.
Glenn was born on March 23, 1935 in Maysville, Oklahoma, the son of Fletcher and Bessie Mayfield. He was a Civil Service Equipment Specialist. He attended Weber State University in Ogden, Utah. Glenn was a member of the Boyd Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Marveda Harrison.
Left behind to cherish his memory is: Wife, Francis Mayfield of Decatur; son, Mike Mayfield and wife, Kristin of Tulsa, Oklahoma; daughters, Mary Verner and husband Carol of Decatur, Mindi Mayfield of Irving; five grandchildren: Mandy, Nick, Kinzi, Kassidy, and Jozi Rose Fletcher; brother, Jim, Mayfield and wife Lou of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma; sisters, Wilma Gillham and husband Donald of Maysville, Oklahoma, and Judy McCaleb of Plano.
