BRIDGEPORT -- Gladys Jennie Beard, 95, went to be with our Lord on Saturday, Aug. 29, 2009 in Bridgeport.
Graveside Service: 2 p.m. Wednesday at Lone Star Cemetery. Family will receive friends: 6-8 p.m. Tuesday. Elaine White will officiate.
Gladys was born on April 1, 1914, the daughter of James Alfred Arthur and Sophie Louise (Gerhart) Irwin, in Santa Rosa, New Mexico. Gladys was a homemaker. She was a member of the Morris Memorial First United Methodist Church in Chico.
Gladys was preceded in death by her husband, Edd Prince Beard, and a son, George Dale Beard.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are: sons, Eddie Joe Beard and wife Dianna of Arlington, Leonard L. Beard and wife Kathy of Alvarado, Fred Wallis and wife of Tullarosa, New Mexico, and James (Leroy) Wallis and wife Brenda Ann of Euless; daughters, Martha Jean Beard of Chico, Darla Susann Bowyer of Bridgeport; 14 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren.
