GH Smith

Surrounded by loved ones, G H Smith went to Heaven to be with our Lord on Sunday, March 22, 2026.

He was born April 16, 1942, to Robert Monroe Smith and Alta Estelle Hillburn Smith, in Littlefield, Texas. He was united in marriage December 22, 1983, to Brenda Holder Smith, in Lovington, New Mexico.G H was self employed, the owner of Service Center, a heating and air conditioning company,in the west Texas towns of Seminole, Plains, Levelland, and later this area before retirement in 2014.

He grew up in Littlefield, Texas. The youngest of 13. Much of his younger life was spent on the family ranch. He was especially fond of his horse, Flaxie. Even all these years later, Flaxie, was often a topic of family conversation. He was a story teller and those stories always put smiles on the faces of those around him. His passion for riding dirt bikes, playing tennis, working in his woodshop, and piloting airplanes led to many more stories for him to tell.

GH, (H) as he was known by family and friends, blessed them with humor, strength, love and compassion. He was a man who knew how to fix almost anything and was a problem solver. His children called him “hero” and remember him as taking great joy in lending a helping hand to others.

GH was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and had a multitude of friends and family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers and sisters, and a granddaughter, Reagan.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Brenda; his children, Chad Smith, Traci Baxter, Brian Holder, and Kara Richardson; his grandchildren, Kristen, Chad David, Cody, Cade, Kole, Karsen and Kennedy; his great-grandchildren, Turner, Hudson, Holden, Braylen, Diluc, Kaiden, Channing and Cullin.

A Celebration of Life will be held on April 11, 2026, from 1-2:00 p.m. at Lifepoint Fellowship Church in Haslet, TX.
