Bridgeport ~ Gerald Thomas Jordan, 80, a medical lab director, went to be with our Lord Monday, August 31, 2015 in Decatur.

Funeral is 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 3, 2015 at Pleasant View Baptist Church with burial in Paradise Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Hawkins Funeral Home.

Rev. Gary Demmitt and Robert McPherson will officiate. Pallbearers include Jack Watson, Gary Green, Kermit Stephens, John McCauley, Johnny Ray Smith, and Charlie Barnett.

Gerald was born on October 26, 1934 to John and Irene (Caffey) Jordan in Fort Worth, Texas. He was united in marriage to Frances McPherson on August 6, 1960 in Paradise. Gerald earned a bachelor’s degree in Arts and his medical technician certification. He served 20 years on the Bridgeport school board. Gerald was a member of the Masonic Lodge # 587, Eastern Star of Chico, a Gideon, and a member of Scottish Wright. Gerald was a member of Hermleigh Church of Christ in Hermleigh, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 55 years, Frances Jordan of Bridgeport; his son, John Jordan and wife Tammy of Bridgeport; his daughter, Jodie Castaneda and husband Javier of Cottage Grove, Wisconsin; his grandsons, Cason Jordan and wife Nicole, Mason Jordan, Alexander Castaneda, and Colton Klyce; his granddaughters, Cassandra Castaneda, Elizabeth Castaneda, Gabriella Castaneda, and Halee Klyce; other family members and a host of friends.
