Geary Lewis Washburn

Geary Lewis Washburn, 85, of Decatur went to be with his Lord Tuesday, April 28th, 2026 surrounded by loved ones.

Funeral is 2:00 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Decatur with burial at Oaklawn Cemetery. Family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service at the church.

Geary was born June 14th, 1940 to Odie L. and Nora (Nikirk) Washburn in Alvord, Texas. He was united in marriage December 8th, 1961 to Linda Ann Stevens in Decatur, Texas. Geary was a retired self-employed tax consultant for over 51 years. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to many who will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Harold Washburn.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of over 64 years, Linda Washburn of Decatur; his sons, Steve Washburn and wife Laurie of Decatur and Lance Washburn and wife Emily of Kaufman; 5 grandchildren, Fallon and husband David Cowan, Hallie, Nicole, Geary Newman, and Emma Lane Washburn; a brother, Bobby Washburn; extended family and a host of friends.
