Gary Willis

Decatur ~ Gary Dee Willis, 79, went to be with our Lord Wednesday, February 27, 2019, in Decatur.

Funeral is 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 2, 2019, at First Baptist Church in Decatur with burial in Oaklawn Cemetery.  Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church in Decatur.

David Lowrie and Gerre Joiner will officiate. Pallbearers include John Paul Leake, Tom Woodward, Cat Rivera, Jimmy Horner, Matt Collinsworth, and Chris Willis.

Gary was born on August 18, 1939, to Hiram and Marie (Pope) Willis in Fort Worth, Texas. He was united in marriage to Peggy Julian on July 18, 1970, in Plainview, Texas. Gary retired from General Motors as an assembly line worker. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Decatur.

H e was preceded in death by his parents; and his niece.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 48 years, Peggy Willis of Decatur; his daughters, Dee Ann Collinsworth and husband Matt of Lewisville, Dana Willis of Houston; his brothers, David Willis and wife Marilyn, Fred Willis and wife Gwen, Carroll Willis; his sister, Judy Willis; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
