Memorial service is 10 a.m. Thursday, August 14 at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Decatur with the Reverend Monty Tuttle officiating. Burial to follow in Oaklawn Cemetery in Decatur.
Gary was born Nov. 25, 1949 to Norbertt Allan and Wanda Lea (Stowe) Mattison in Weslaco, Texas. Gary, a self-employed masonry contractor, married Teresa Christian on October 22, 1977 in Decatur. Gary was preceded in death by his brother, Brent Alan Mattison and his mother, Wanda Lea Stowe.
Left behind to cherish his memory is his wife of 30 years, Teresa Mattison; daughter, Cory Mattison Johnson and husband Ian of Denton; sons, Chris Mattison and wife Laci of Decatur, Andy Mattison of Decatur; grandsons, Reagan, Jace and Cade; father, N.A. Mattison of Lubbock; brothers, Steve Mattison of Jerrell, Brady Mattison of Lubbock; several nieces and nephews.
