FUNERAL: 2 p.m. Saturday at Hawkins Funeral Home, Bridgeport. Interment: East Bridgeport Cemetery. Visitation: 6-8 Friday.
Rev. Larry Potts to officiate. Pallbearers: Tim Green, Eddie Berry, Bill Coursey, Robert Meek, Jerry Stanfield and Bennie Shipp. Honorary pallbearers: Henry Jenkins, Doug Molloy, G.B. Funk and Sid Brantley.
Garland was born June 20, 1923 to Fred and Ora Miller Davis in Burkburnett, Texas. He married Dolores Cox February 2, 1942. He was raised around Megargel, Texas and entered the Army in December 1942 in the 36th Engineer Division and attached to the British 8th Army. During this time he was on the detail to clear the Vatican and to guard President Roosevelt
