Decatur ~ Franky Joe Robinson, 80, a retired warehouse distributor, went to be with our Lord Friday, January 16, 2015 in Decatur.
Funeral is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Oaklawn Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Charles Taylor will officiate. Pallbearers include Stayce Sampler, Danny Taylor, Terry England, Robert England, Paul Ashley, and Steven Ashley.
Franky was born on August 19, 1934 to William and Alma (England) Robinson in Greenwood, Texas. He was united in marriage to Naida Brown on May 16, 1981 in Boyd. Franky worked for Montgomery Wards as a warehouse distributor for 30 years and retired from IGA working in customer service. He was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church since 1981. He proudly served his country in the marines.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Naida Robinson; and step father, Jasper Allen.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his son, Stayce Sampler and wife Cindy of Elko, Nevada; his granddaughter, Tricia Wood and husband Derek of Fort Worth; his great grandchildren, Madeline, Genevieve, Adrienne, and Catherine Wood; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
