Decatur ~ Fernando Cruz, 41, a pipeliner, went to be with our Lord Tuesday, January 27, 2015 in Decatur.
Funeral is 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 30, 2015 at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church with burial in Oaklawn Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6:30-8:00 p.m. Thursday at the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church. Rosary will be at 6:00 p.m. Thursday before visitation.
Father Thomas Dsouza will officiate. Pallbearers include Javier Cruz, Humberto Prado, Luis Martinez, Lazaro Padron, Ramiro Marquez, Ricardo Cruz, and Fernando Cruz Jr.
Fernando was born on April 20, 1973 to Fidel and Socorro (Mendez) Cruz in Mexico. He was united in marriage to Maria Reyes Marquez on February 13, 2010 in Decatur. Fernando worked as a pipeliner for G-Force. He was a member of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Decatur.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Maria Cruz of Decatur; his sons, Christopher Cruz, Alejandro Cruz, Fernando Cruz Jr. of Decatur; his parents, Fidel and Socorro Cruz of Decatur; his sisters, Yolanda Cruz of Decatur, Maria Martinez and husband Luis of Decatur, Veronica Cruz and husband Carlos Gam of Decatur, Carmen Gonzalez and husband Armando of Decatur, Angeles Huerta and husband Maximino of Decatur and Araceli Cruz of Denton; his brother, Javier Cruz of Austin; his nieces, Melyssa Gam of Decatur, Emma Gonzalez of Decatur, Emily Gonzalez of Decatur, Celeste Huerta of Decatur, and Jovanna Martinez of Decatur; his nephews, Rodrigo Cruz of Decatur, Juan David Huerta of Decatur, Jorge and Isaac Martinez of Decatur; numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, and a host of friends.
