Everette Owen Ruddick

Rev. Everette Owen Ruddick, 79, of Decatur went to be with his Lord & Savior Sunday, February 8, 2026.

Funeral is 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 13, 2026 at Voice of Triumph Assembly of God Church in Sunset, Texas with burial Monday at Port O’Conner Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8:00 p.m. Thursday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur.

Rev. John Ruddick will officiate. Pallbearers include Noel Ruddick, Ronnie Patterson, Wesley Ruddick, Daniel Ruddick, Gage Ruddick, and Donnie Ruddick.

Everette was born May 28, 1946 to Virgil Owen and Dorothy Burdine Rea Ruddick in Port Lavaca, Texas. He was united in marriage to Debora Overton. Everette was a minister for many years, preaching the word of God at Assemblies of God churches before his retirement. He proudly served our country in the United States Army for 6 years, having served 1 year in Vietnam. Everette was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend to many who will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil & Dorothy Ruddick; and his beloved wife Debora Overton Ruddick; his brothers, Mephibasheth Ruddick and Vernon Ruddick; his sisters, Marie Cude, Myrtle Dulaney, and Judy Patterson.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Shelly Armstrong, and Colette Ruddick; his son, Ronnie Ruddick & wife Rosie; 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; his brothers, Edward Ruddick & wife Elwanda, Dale Ruddick & wife Cindy, John Ruddick & wife Theresa, Royce Ruddick & wife Gale, and Donnie Ruddick & wife Katrina; his sisters, Marilyn Pope & husband Bernie, and Marla Patterson & husband Ernie; a brother-in-law, Ray Patterson; extended family members and a host of friends.
