Evelyn "Ann" Jones

Evelyn Kay “Ann” Jones, 85, of Paradise went to be with her Lord Saturday, August 15, 2026.

Funeral is 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 21st at Cottondale Baptist Church with burial at Paradise Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8:00 p.m. Thursday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur.

Pastor Charles Pugh will officiate. Pallbearers include Hunter Jones, Jordan Weaver, Jared Gilliam, Cooper Jones, and Jackson Jones.

Ann was born May 11, 1941 to Carlton Taylor and Magella (Elam) Niblett in Agnes, Texas. She was united in marriage June 28, 1959 to Roy Glenn Jones in Flatwoods, Texas. Ann as all called her, her name being Evelyn Kay but Ann it was, she was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many who will miss her deeply.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Carlton & Magella Niblett; 3 brothers, Richie Niblett, Wayne Niblett and Lonnie Niblett; 2 sisters, Carlene Morehead & her husband Randall, and Bobbie Badger & husband Ed Lee; her brother-in-law, Harry Phillips, and sister-in-law, Pam Jones.

Those left to cherish her memories are her husband of 67 years, Roy Jones; her daughter Tonya Gilliam & husband Jeff ; her sons, Brad and Logan Jones; 7 grandchildren, Jared & Jessica Gilliam, Jordan Weaver & wife Jenise, Hunter Jones, Gracie, Cooper, and Jackson Jones; 1 great-grandson J.J Weaver, a brother, Don Niblett & wife Earlene; a sister, Kathy Horton; 3 sister-in-laws, Lydia Bridier & husband Johnny, Peggy Phillips, Clara Niblett, Jane Niblett and Margaret Niblett ; her brother-in-law, Pete Jones; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and a host of friends.
