BRIDGEPORT -- Eva Pearl Morton Young, 89, went home to be with our Lord on Thursday, June 25, 2009 in Bridgeport.
Funeral: 2 p.m. Sunday at Hawkins Funeral Chapel. Burial: will be private. Visitation: 5-7 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Rev. Gary Sessions will officiate.
Eva was born on February 20, 1920, the daughter of Columbus and Sally Elmirah (Taylor) Morton, in Bridgeport. She was a homemaker. She married V.T. Young on December 28, 1935, in Bridgeport. Eva was a member of the Twin Oaks Assembly Of God Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, V.T., her brother, John Morton, and five sisters: Jessie VanHoose, Letha Young, Edna Howard, Linnie Moody, and Lannie Gray.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are: sister, Jean Waldrop of Newark; and numerous nieces and nephews.
