Chico: Esther Alva Caroline Dallas, 81, a retired laundress, went to be with our Lord, Thursday, October 28, 2010 in Decatur.
Memorial Service: 10:30 AM Saturday at The Sheppards House in Chico. The Reverend L.C. Smith and Reverend Kern Choate to officiate.
Esther was born December 22, 1928 to Alvin and Carrie (Eggelston) Cole in South Bend, Indiana. She married Homer W. Dallas on October 3, 1937 in Monterey, California; he preceded her in death along with her parents; her brother, Junior Cole; and 4 sisters, Bonnie, Jessie, Ivalene and Edith.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her 2 daughters, Vickie Dallas of Chico, Susan Smart of Fresno, California; 3 grandchildren, Shawndra, Jonathan and Christopher; 4 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Beverly Dallas of Paradise, Ivy Lopez of El Paso, Texas; numerous nieces and nephews; other relatives and a host of friends.
