E.R. (Ray) Lewis

Funeral: 2 p.m. Monday, Hill Top Assembly of God, Boyd. Interment: Aurora Cemetery. Rev. Billy Fitch will officiate. Pallbearers: Claborn Young, Ty Lewis, C.W. Williams, Mark Romine, Billy Ray Williams, and Ronnie Young.

Ray was born on May 10, 1927, the son of Ruben and Emma Lou (Lawrence) Lewis in Caldwell, Texas. He married Ruby (Young) Lewis on March 26, 1945 in Seagraves, Texas and they were together for 60 years until her passing in December, 2004. They owned and operated Lewis Water Well Service together. He was the founding father of Hilltop Assembly of God Church in Boyd, where he served as Deacon. They started the church in their home. He was chosen Deacon Of The Year of the North Fort Worth Section of the Assemblies of God. On June 22, 2005, Ray remarried to Lydia Ruth Barrons in Boyd, texas. Ray served in the U.S. Navy.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Ruby, and his son, Terry Edwin Lewis.

Those left to cherish his memory are: his wife, Lydia of Paradise; sons, Larry Lewis and wife Janet of Paradise, Roger Lewis and wife Melinda of Paradise; daughters: Cindy Bradford and husband Paul of Rushton, Louisiana, Pat Swindell and husband Ray of Paradise, Anita Golaz and husband James of San Antonio; stepson, Frank West of Paradise; 18 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; brother, Thomas West of Paradise; sister, Margaret Vuicich of of Seagraves, Texas
