Denton ~ Elmer Cox, 80, a business owner, went to be with our Lord Saturday, February 21, 2015 in Denton.
Funeral is 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Chico Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers include Justin Cox, Jason Cox, Jacob Cox, Jesse Cox, Colby Moore, Steven Cox, Sammy Smith and Nick Jones.
Elmer was born on November 21, 1934 to Ernest and Linnie (Ogle) Cox in Chico, Texas. Elmer owned and operated Chico Limestone. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree from North Texas State University. Elmer proudly served his country in the United States Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Stevie Cox; his grandson, Clint Cox; his sisters, Pharine Meeks and Betty Robinson; and his brother, Everett Cox.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, June Cox; his daughter, Gina Cox Schefer and husband Steven; his sons, Eric Cox and wife Brenda, Van Cox and wife Sheila, Chris Cox and wife Katherine, Shay Cox and partner Matt Newman; 9 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren, other family members and a host of friends.
