Elizabeth Ann Dunning

Elizabeth Ann (Grimsley) Dunning of Decatur passed away on Saturday, September 5, 2026.

Ann as all called her was born on Sunday, December 28,1947 in Alvord, Texas to parents Jacob Charles (J.C.) and Gertrude (Downing) Grimsley and is a graduate of Alvord High School in 1966. She married Vallon (Val) Emmons Dunning on February 9, 1986 and they were married for 34 years before he passed away in 2021.

Ann loved people! After her children grew up, she was known to informally adopt others into the family and provide a loving place for them to grow. She also loved her family. Ann retired from Boeing Aerospace and also worked alongside her husband at Dunning Real Estate. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Alvord.

She was preceded in death by her husband Val, stepson Parish, sister Paula Holloway, and brother Billy Grimsley.

Ann is survived by her sons Michael Miller and his wife Amy of Colleyville, Texas, Chris Miller of Decatur, Jason Dunning of Decatur and her special kiddo Tommy Combs. She was the proud grandmother of Anna Miller, Carter Miller, Lilly Miller, Yancy Dunning, and Hannah Dunning Parr; extended family and a host of friends.

Funeral Service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 26, 2026 at First Baptist Church in Alvord with burial at Alvord Cemetery. Alvord Cemetery.
