Paradise ~ Eleanor Burdick Kerr, 89, a retired Southwestern Bell worker, went to be with our Lord Tuesday, June 30, 2015 in Fort Worth.
Funeral is 2:00 p.m. Monday, July 6, 2015 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Paradise Cemetery. Family will receive friends 4-6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Rev. Jessie Wilson will officiate. Pallbearers include Brandon Thompson, Derek Uselton, James Stoker, Timmy Stoker, Jeff Enlow, and P.J. Neu. Honorary pallbearers are Alex Enlow, Thomas Heard, Boyd Everitt and Matt Privett.
Eleanor was born on January 22, 1926 to George and Elsie (Humphries) Burdick in St. Petersburg, Florida. She retired from Southwestern Bell after 35 years of service. Eleanor was a member of The Pioneer Club with Southwestern Bell, and the Athens Craft Show.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Bill Hodge; her sisters, Shirley Burdick Brown and Madeline Patricia Scarbrough; and her nephews, Roy "Johnny" Heard, and Robert "Bob" Heard.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her granddaughter, Kelly Beth Hodge of Rockwall; her great grandson, Aidan Hodge; her niece, Sharla Beth Everitt Enlow and husband Jeffery of Houston; her nephew, Boyd Edward Everitt of Houston; her niece-in-law, Charlene Heard of Fort Worth; her great nieces, Susan Harris of Fort Worth, Tina Thompson of Paradise, Stephanie Heard of Paradise, Denise Bashur of El Paso, Carissa Everitt of Houston; her great nephews, Alexander Enlow of Houston and Eric Everitt of Houston; 8 great-great nieces and nephews; and 2 great-great-great nieces and nephews; other family members and a host of friends.
