BOYD-Elbert Roy Darnell, 69 a retired mechanic went to be with our Lord on Monday, December 28, 2009 in Azle, Texas.
Funeral: 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 1, 2010 at the Christian-Hawkins Funeral Home. Family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Friday prior to the service at the funeral home.
Roy was born October 8, 1940 to Elbert Irving and Dorothy (Pennington) Darnell in Wichita Falls, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a daughter Julie Darnell.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 25 years Sherry L. Darnell of Boyd, son; Roy Darnell, Jr. of Boyd, daughter; Paula Roberts and husband Reggie of Ft. Worth, 5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
