Edwin Douglas Michael

Edwin Douglas Michael, 91, of Ft. Worth went to be with his Lord & Savior Saturday, November 29th, 2025.

Memorial Service is 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 8th at First Christian Church in Arlington, 910 South Collins Street, Arlington, TX 76010. Bill Jeffreys will officiate.

Edwin was born October 4th, 1934 to Edwin Garner Michael and Mary Edna (Miller) Michael in Wichita, Kansas. He was united in marriage December 18th 1955 to Louise Elizabeth Swaney in Clinton, Missouri. Edwin graduated Phillips University in 1956. Then he attained a Masters of Divinity from Brite Divinity School at TCU in 1959. In 1976 he completed a Master of Theology Degree from Brite Divinity School at TCU.

Ed became ordained in the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) January 1, 1960 at Rowlett, Texas. Later serving in multiple capacities in several churches in Newkirk, Ok. Athens, Tx. Dallas, Tx. Desoto, Tx and Arlington, Tx. He had a deep passion for pastoral care and continued after retirement from 2001-2008 as Associate Minister of Pastoral Care at FCC, Arlington, Tx.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary (Miller) Michael, his father Edwin G. Michael and step mother, Lauretta (Graver) Michael, his wife of 66 years, Louise Michael, son, Randy, and granddaughter, Morgan.

Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Kirk and wife Darletta, son, Scott and sister, Edwina and husband Alton Beaver plus 2 grandsons, 1 granddaughter and 4 great grandchildren. Plus numerous nieces, nephews and countless friends and colleagues.
