DECATUR----Edward James Otis, 91, an elevator mechanic for the City of New York, went to be with our Lord on Sunday, August 9, 2009 in Bridgeport.
A private Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
Edward James Otis was born on October 30, 1917, the son of Ralph and Alice (Faulkner) Otis, in Bronyx, New York. He married Grace Bradley on January 10, 1937. Edward served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the St. Vincent De Paul Roman Catholic Church.
Those left behind to cherish his memory include: his daughter, Virginia Czechowicz and husband Edward of Boyd; son, Bradley Otis of Hobe Sound, Florida; and sister, Alice Parlpyano of Tampa, Florida
