Edward Dale Milligan

Boyd ~ Edward Dale Milligan, 81, went to be with our Lord on Monday, July 13, 2026, in Fort Worth.

Funeral Service is at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 17th, in the Edward D. Milligan Auditorium at Grace Baptist Church in Springtown, with burial at New Hope Cemetery in Boyd. Family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Bridgeport.

Rev. Mike Orsini will officiate the funeral service, along with Dr. R.A. Smith to officiate at the graveside service.

Edward was born on November 1, 1944, to Benjamin Franklin and Orbra Lucille (Kent) Milligan in Fort Worth. He was united in marriage to Phyllis Heinsen on May 5, 1979, in Cottondale. Edward served as a pastor for 58 years, establishing Grace Baptist Church in Springtown and faithfully leading as its pastor for 44 years. His commitment to the community and passion for his congregation left a lasting impact on everyone he encountered. Edward proudly served our country in the United States Army. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend to many who will miss him dearly.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, James and Franklin; and several half-sisters.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 47 years, Phyllis Milligan of Boyd; his sons, Daniel Milligan and his wife Sharon of Springtown, and Benjamin Milligan and his wife Tori of Boyd; his granddaughter, Anna Grace Milligan; numerous nieces and nephews, including Donald and Kenneth Heinsen; and a host of friends.
