Doyle D Wood

Justin ~ Doyle D. Wood, 84, a retired accountant, went to be with our Lord Sunday, February 11, 2018 in Fort Worth.

Funeral is 10:30 a.m. Thursday, February 15, 2018 at St. Mark Catholic Church, 6500 Crawford Road, Argyle, Texas 76226 with burial in the Boonsville Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Bridgeport.

Father George will officiate. Pallbearers include Robert Grantham, John Thames, Dustin Wood, Wain Glass, Danny McKnight and Jim Engbrock.

Doyle was born on December 20, 1933 to Ed and Lorena (Bagwell) Wood in Crews, Texas. He was united in marriage to Susan Merka on December 28, 1982 in Roanoke, Texas. Doyle retired from Radio Shack. After his retirement he worked for FEMA. He was a member of the St. Mark Catholic Church in Argyle

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers and sisters, Loretta Boatwright, Florene McKnight, Douglas Wood, W.G. Wood, Betty Myres, Donna Atkinson, Mary Stith, Earl Wood, Mae Bell Grantham and Sandra Tillery.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife Susan Wood of Justin; his daughter, Debra Thames and husband John of Justin; his sons, David Wood and wife Miyong of Fort Worth and Jeff Wood of Bridgeport; his grandchildren, Gabriel Evans, Nathan Evans and Dustin Wood; his great grandchildren Lupita Evans and Victoria Evans; and his sister, Effie Jewel Engbrock; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
