Douglas Ray Bolton, 77, of Bowie passed away Wednesday, November 4, 2026.

Graveside Service is 3 PM, Monday at Oaklawn Cemetery in Decatur. Gerre Joiner will officiate.

Douglas was born November 6, 1948 to Otis Tastus and Esther Thelma (Akin) Bolton in Bryan, Texas. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. Following his military service, Douglas worked in the grocery business, dedicating his career to the retail food industry. He was a Baptist and valued his faith throughout his life. He was a beloved brother, uncle, and friend to many who will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Otis and Ester Bolton.

Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Chad Bolton of College Station; his sister, Patsy Ford of Decatur; his nephew, Rusty Ford of Decatur; his niece, Chrystal Holson and husband Ron of Sundown, Texas; his grandson, Tyler Bolton of Houston; extended family and a host of friends.
