Dortha Lee (Shaw) Anderson

Decatur ~ Dortha Lee Shaw Anderson, 94, a homemaker, went to be with her Lord and Savior Sunday, May 31, 2015 in Decatur.

Funeral is 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home with burial at Pleasant Grove #1.  Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Rev. Gary Demmitt will officiate. Pallbearers are her nephews, Jeff Shaw, Ronnie Shaw, Scooter Shaw, Barry Shaw, Monte Shaw, and James Stutt.

Dortha was born on March 14, 1921 to C.O. and Vena (Brown) Shaw in Childress, Texas. She was united in marriage to Edd Anderson on June 18, 1938 in Decatur.  Dortha was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Edd Anderson. She was a homemaker, and worked at Lorch-Westway factory. Dortha was a good cook, noted for her cakes. She has resided at The Hills for the past eight years. Dortha was a member of  Baptist Faith, she attending New Salem, Mount Zion, and Calvary most of her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edd Anderson; 8 brothers, Jack Shaw, Pete Shaw, Jiggs Shaw, Popeye Shaw, Buck Shaw, Bull Shaw, John Shaw, and Butch Shaw; 3 sisters, Frankie Limburg, Lou Collins, and Linda Russell.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her four children, Eddie Anderson and wife Patricia of El Dorado, Arkansas, Curtis Anderson and wife Margaret of Decatur, Sam Anderson and wife Peggy of Kerens, Texas, and Nancy Abrams and husband Gary of Shreveport, Louisiana; her grandchildren, Christy England and husband Brad, Darrin Anderson and wife Alicia, Jennifer Terrell and husband Steven, Jacquelyn Anderson and fiancé Tim Meyer, Ike Anderson and wife Heather, James Johnson and wife Shannon, Carson Abrams, and Sarah Abrams; 10 great grandchildren; her sister-in-laws, Marcella, Margie, Maxine, and Opal Shaw, and Peggy Anderson; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and host of friends.
