Dorothy Jean (Mcanally) Whatley

Argyle ~ Dorothy Jean Whatley, 90, went to be with our Lord Sunday, June 16, 2019, in Argyle.
Funeral is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 19, 2019, at the Newark Church of Christ with burial at Cottondale Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Boyd.
Bro. Mike Boaldin will officiate. Pallbearers include David Taylor, Matt Taylor, Chris Wilson, Zack Whatley, Phillip Wallker and Derek Dobbs.
Dorothy was born on November 24, 1928, to Carl and Emma Mae (King) McAnally in Lawn, Texas. She was united in marriage to Thomas Whatley Jr. on October 8, 1948 in Weatherford. Dorothy, a retired bookkeeping supervisor was also a member of Newark Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Thomas Whatley, Jr.; her daughter, Kitsy Runyan; her brother, Jack McAnally; and her sister, Frances Jolly.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her son, Tommy Whatley of Denton; her daughters, Sherri Taylor and husband David of Newark, and Kim Spatz and husband Steve of Argyle; her grandchildren, Jennifer Walker, Lauren Dobbs, Zack Whatley, Hannah Marshall, Michael Whatley, Shauna Houston, Chris Wilson, Macey Taylor, and Matt Taylor; her 10 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
