Dorothy Rae (Christerson) Monk

Arlington ~ Dorothy Rae Monk, 82, went to be with our Lord January 6, 2020, in Arlington.

Funeral is 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 11, 2020 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Bridgeport with burial in West Bridgeport Cemetery. Family will receive friends 1 hour prior to service.

Rev. Rick Davis will officiate. Pallbearers include Shaun Truex, Ashley Truex, Alex Truex, Nikole Monk, Joshua Monk, and Katharine Monk.

Dorothy was born December 2, 1937, to William Kendall and Opal (Lovejoy) Christerson in Clayton, New Mexico. Dorothy was a Supervisor for Cen Tex Model Homes as a career. Gardening was Dorothy’s pride and joy as was time spent with family and her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Kenneth Don “Red” Christerson; her sisters, Charlene Box, Barbara Lawrence, Margie Quinn, and Betty Sue Casey.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her daughter, Rebecca Truex and husband Ron of Arlington; her sons, Jeff Monk and wife Kathy of Joshua, and Greggory Monk of Arlington; her grandchildren, Shaun, Ashley, and Alex Truex, Nikole, Joshua, and Katharine Monk; her sister, Betty Jo Tackle of Bridgeport; her brothers, Jerry Dan Christerson of Seabrook, and Johnny Johnston of Paradise; and numerous nieces, nephews, a large extended family, and a host of friends.
