Dorothy Jean (Meador) Lambert

Boyd ~ Dorothy Jean Lambert, 82, went to be with our Lord on Thursday,  April 18, 2019, in Decatur after a long battle of Dementia.

Funeral service is 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at First Baptist Church in Boyd, with burial at the Pleasant Grove Cemetery #1 in Decatur. Family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday at the church.

Rev. Mark Autry will officiate. Pallbearers include Aaron Lambert, Derek Lambert, Adam Lambert, Thomas Lambert, J.R. Lambert, J.C. Lambert, Stuart Ferguson, Terry Witherspoon, and James Tomm.

Honorary Pallbearers include Chuck Lambert, Jim Lambert, Tommy Lambert, David Lambert, Mike Lambert, Steve Lambert, Tim Lambert, and Mike Martin.

Dorothy was born July 19, 1936 to Floyd and Margaret (Caraway) Meador in Decatur. She was united in marriage to Thomas “T.H.” Lambert on December 20, 1952 in Decatur. Dorothy was a member of the first Baptist Church in Boyd.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son, Mark Henry Lambert; her daughter, Linda Jean Lisby; her grandson, Clay Lisby, all of Boyd; her sisters, Bobbie Stone, Bonnie Holland, Vera Moore, and Joyce Rich; her brother, James Meador.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her sons, John Lambert and wife Sheila, and Danny Lambert and wife Susan all of Boyd; her daughter in law, Betty Lambert; her grandchildren, Jenniffer and husband Terry, J.C. and wife Jillian, Aaron and wife Lauren, Derek and wife Hannah, Adam and wife Kelly, Shasta and husband James, J.R., Lavada and husband Stuart, and Thomas and wife Jessicah; her great grandchildren, Emily, Zane, Sovay, Wyatt, Eli, Cason, Ava, Weston, Lola, Rhett, Brooklynn, Taylor, Jayden, Addilynne, Jensen, Ella, Lexi, Noel, and Mark; her brothers, Wylie Meador and wife Suzette of Decatur, Donald Meador and wife Barbara of Decatur, Roy Meador and wife Linda of Decatur; her brother in laws, Curtis Rich, and Steve Holland of Decatur; her sister’s in law, Dorothy Gray and Billy of Newark, Evelyn Meador, and Joanne Lambert both of Decatur; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
