Dorothy Fern Dale

Dorothy Fern Dale, 90 of Bridgeport, a spirited and vibrant soul whose laughter could light up any room, passed away peacefully on August 25, 2025, in Bridgeport, Texas.

Born on July 22, 1935, in the quaint town of Appleby, Texas to her parents Audie May (Hudson) and Virgle Selsey Baird, Dorothy lived a life full of joy, adventure, and a boundless love for her family. Throughout her career in sales, Dorothy became known not just for her remarkable professionalism, but for the infectious energy she brought to every interaction. A true firecracker, her fun-loving nature and keen sense of humor left an indelible mark on all who were fortunate enough to know her. She embraced life with gusto, always seeking to collect beautiful experiences and make cherished memories.

Dorothy had a profound love for traveling, eager to explore the world around her. She also had a talent for transforming her home into a vibrant holiday wonderland, amassing an impressive array of decorations for all holidays, but especially Halloween and Christmas which spoke to her festive spirit. Yet, above all her passions and interests, it was her grandchildren who brought her the greatest joy. The love she felt for Justin, Austin, Devon, Katlyn, Brandy, and Rodney, Jr. was immeasurable, and she cherished the time spent with them and her beloved great-grandchildren, creating a tapestry of unforgettable memories.

Dorothy is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Tina Jennings and her husband Rodney, her grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, her loving siblings Delton Baird and Louise Ingle, her numerous nieces and nephews; all a testament to the vibrant legacy she leaves behind. She is preceded in death by her parents and her beloved son, William Matthew Dale, who she held dear in her heart. 

As we celebrate the life of Dorothy Fern Dale, let us remember her laughter, her love for life, and the warmth she shared with those around her. Her spirit will continue to inspire and bring joy to all who knew her.
