BRIDGEPORT -- Doris Jean Jenkins, 69, a retired dietician at Park Haven, went to be with our Lord on Sunday, May 11, 2008 in Bridgeport.
Graveside service: 11 a.m. Wednesday at West Bridgeport Cemetery. Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Rev. Gary Sessions of the Twin Oaks Assembly Of God Church will officiate.
Doris Jean was born on February 6, 1939 in Bridgeport, Texas, the daughter of Cecil and Leatha (Morton) Young.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Christopher Sparkman; a daughter, Judy Sparkman; a sister, Patsy Young; and a daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Sparkman.
Left behind to cherish her memory are: sons, Jackie Lee Sparkman of Bridgeport, Michael Sparkman and wife Dyone of Crafton; daughters, Cynthia Burris and husband Eddy of Conroe, Cassandra Austin of Springtown; 3 brothers, Clayborn Young and wife Pat of Decatur, Delbert Young of Bridgeport, Jimmy Young of Bridgeport; 4 sisters, Annie Walker of Burleson, Sara Ruth Starnes of Bridgeport, Kathy Butler of Bridgeport, Teresa Goley and husband Mike of Decatur; 8 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren.
