Doris Barbra "Bobbie" Dethloff Reese

Doris Barbra “Bobbie” Dethloff Reese, 91, a retired CNA and SKIL employee, gained her Heavenly Home on Wednesday, July 12, 2023 at 2:20 a.m. at the Oswego Health and Rehab nursing home in Oswego, KS.

Bobbie was born on January 16, 1932 to Jesse and Etta (Richardson) Dethloff in Bridgeport, TX. In her later years, she earned her GED and CNA and was very proud of this accomplishment in that stage of her life. She married Vern A. Reese in 1957 at Miami, OK and resided on the family farm south of Columbus, KS until her husband’s death in 2003, moving to Chetopa, KS to be nearer to her daughter, Toni Crumrine. In 2007, she moved back to Bridgeport, TX to help take care of her sister, Ita “PeeWee” Petty before moving back to Chetopa, KS after her sister’s death, where she lived until her death at the Oswego nursing home.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Vern; her son, Mitchell L. Reese; her parents; her brother, Gewan Dethloff; and her two sisters, Mavis “Pete” Erwin and Ita “PeeWee” Petty.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her daughter, Toni Crumrine of Chetopa, KS; her granddaughters, Jennifer Hine and husband Jake of Oswego, KS and Amanda Carrell of Leavenworth, KS; her great-granddaughter, Madison Hine; numerous extended family members and a host of friends.

She requested no funeral service and will be buried next to her son, Mitch, in Bridgeport, TX.
