Donna Lea Thompson

Newark ~ Donna Lea Thompson, 78, went to be with our Lord Saturday, June 25, 2022 in Granbury.

Funeral is 10:30 AM Saturday, July 9, at Hawkins Funeral Home in Boyd with burial to follow in Aurora Cemetery. Family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Pallbearers include Yancy VanSchuyver, Wesley Pearson, Eric VanSchuyver, Landon VanSchuyver, Steven Stanford, and Bobby Lovelady.

Donna was born on January 14, 1944 to Vernon and Dessie (Newsome) Thackerson in Dublin. She was united in marriage to Bobby Joe Thompson on June 18, 1998 in Fort Worth. Donna was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bobby Thompson; and her granddaughter, Kimberly VanSchuyver.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her children, Lonnie VanSchuyver and wife Doll of Newark, Lenneica Stewart and husband John of Granbury, Kelley Cook of Sansom Park, Ashley Thompson and fiancé Wesley Pearson of Granbury, and Amber Thompson of North Richland Hills; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; her sisters, Nina Wolfe and Linda and Joe Stringer; other relatives and a host of friends.
