Donna Lee Jackson, a beloved wife, mother, and Nana, of Decatur, Texas, passed away peacefully at home on January 9, 2026 at the age of 85. Donna lived a life rich in service to others, love, and devotion to her church and the Lord.
Donna was born on December 14, 1940, in Decatur, Texas, to Homer and Elva Rhoads. She was a lifelong resident of the community she loved dearly. Donna attended school in Decatur, where she earned her high school diploma.
On June 6, 1958, Donna married the love of her life, Loyd Jackson. Together they shared 67 years of marriage. Later that same year, in the fall of 1958, she began her career at First National Bank. Donna devoted an extraordinary 57 years to the banking industry, serving her customers and community with integrity, kindness, and dedication until her retirement in 2015.
Donna was known for her servant’s heart and her unwavering commitment to helping others. She volunteered with the Salvation Army for 50 years, served as a hospital auxiliary volunteer, was a previous member of the Decatur Chamber Board, and faithfully volunteered at First Baptist Church.
One of Donna’s greatest joys was attending her grandchildren’s and great-grandchildren’s events. No matter the occasion, she made it a priority to be present, offering her love, encouragement, and unwavering support.
Donna loved the Lord and her family deeply. She consistently put others before herself and leaves behind a legacy of faith, generosity, and selfless love that will continue to inspire all who knew her.
Donna is survived by her husband, Loyd Jackson of Decatur; her children, Carrie Greever (Chuck) of Decatur and Calvin Jackson (Tiffany) of Decatur; grandchildren Andrew Greever (Jennifer), Alyssa Meekins (Chris), Cooper Jackson (Kylie), Tannor Jackson, and Dalton Jackson; great-grandchildren Tate, Nixon, and Grace Greever; her sister, Pat Rhine; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Elva Rhoads; her brother, Bob Rhoads; her sister, Betty Rhoads; and her great-grandson, Jack Greever.
Visitation will be held January 13, 2026, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Decatur, Texas.
Funeral services will be January 14, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Decatur, Texas, with John Hogan and Darrell Anderson officiating.
Interment will follow at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Decatur, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Salvation Army or the First Baptist Church Library.
