Bridgeport ~ Donald "Chief" Money, 31, a farmer, has gone home to be with his Lord on Thursday, May 30, 2013 in Bridgeport after a long battle with chronic kidney disease.
Funeral is 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 1, 2013 at Pleasant View Baptist Church with burial in East Bridgeport Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at Hawkins Funeral Home.
Rev. Gary Dimmitt will officiate. Pallbearers include Allan Green, Derrick Bailey, Jason Shawn, Ryan Murphy, Chan Horne, Colby Shawn, Shawn Mann, and Scott Mann.
Donald was born on March 26, 1982 to James and Judy (Montford) Money in Bridgeport. He was a member of the Pleasant View Baptist Church, Kidney Foundation, Bridgeport FFA and Bridgeport 4H. Donald was a young man who had a love for agriculture. He was well versed in livestock and plants, especially cattle. Donald loved his cows and dogs and would share his trials with the disease with them as he battled his chronic kidney disease which he had since birth. A long battle he faced each and every day with chronic pain and fatigue but always had a smile that could light up a room. He never felt sorry for himself and always tried to help others with a word of encouragement thru facebook, emails, or a phone call. Once Donald became someone's friend, he was there to the end. He will be missed.
He was preceded in death by his aunt, Donna Sue Bird and grandmother, Mary Lou Money.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his parents, James and Judy Money of Bridgeport; his sister, Jodi Money of Bridgeport; his grandparents, Donald and Verda Montford of Bridgeport; his grandfather, Kenneth Money of Monahans, Texas; his aunts and uncles extended, David and Beth Montford, Carol Money, Donny and Dawn Money; 4 legged friends, Ciara, Brody and Izzi; other family members and a host of friends.
