Newark ~ Donald J. Laux, 88, a retired aerospace engineer inspector, went to be with our Lord Monday October 19, 2015 in Decatur.
Memorial service is 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at Christian-Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel with entombment in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, Dallas, Texas.
Donald was born on March 6, 1927 to Gordon and Rose (Garrity) Laux in Appleton, Wisconsin. He was united in marriage to Yoko Tsumita on April 1, 1973 in Tokyo, Japan.
After World War II, Donald joined the Merchant Marines, carrying supplies to Europe. He then entered the Air Force where he served in Korea and Vietnam and retired in 1971. Donald was a member of the VFW Post 10374. He worked at General Dynamics in Fort Worth for 13 years, and retired from that position.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Patrick and Randy; sister-in-law, Emily; and his sister, Bonita Damro.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 42 years, Yoko Laux; his son, Donald Laux Jr and wife Barbara of Wisconsin; his daughters, Tammie Nelson and husband Bob, of Wisconsin, and Debra McMullen of Wisconsin; 5 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and
1 great great grandchild; his brothers, Dave Laux and wife Judy of Wisconsin, Gordy Laux and wife Lois of Mexico, Joe Laux and wife Pam of Florida, and John Laux of Wisconsin; his sisters, Kathy Fondow and husband Larry of Wisconsin; Mary Murphy and husband Tom; his sister-in-law, Corky Laux of Wisconsin; other family members, and a host of friends.
