Bridgeport~ Donald Dick Fippinger, 74, went to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, October 24th, 2025 in Chico, Texas.
Funeral Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 31, 2025 at Grace Fellowship Church in Paradise with burial in Thomas Cemetery in Bridgeport to follow. Family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Bridgeport.
Chuck Ballard will officiate.
Pallbearers will include, Bryce Powers, Blake Sutherland, Griffin Jones, Christian Hand, Joshua Cheek, Micah Cheek, Zechariah Cheek, Elisha Cheek, and Henry Hurtle.
Don was born on September 4, 1951 to Gerald and Phyllis Fippinger in Evanston, Illinois. As a graduate of The Fightin’ Texas Aggie Class of 1973, with a degree in chemical engineering he worked in the gas processing field through retirement from Devon Energy. His primary focus in life was to honor the Lord with his actions, raise his family to know and serve the Lord, and that all who knew him would come to saving faith in Jesus Christ. He lived his life to be an example for others to see Christ through him. Don was united in marriage to the love of his life, Donna Swain Fippinger on March 6, 1971 in Aldine, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna; his parents, Gerald and Phyllis Fippinger; his in-laws Edward and Jean Swain; his sister Barbara Sitton; sister-in-law, Gillene Swain.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his five children, Jeannine Powers and husband, Alan, JoAnn Cheek and husband, Emory, Julie Hurtle and husband, Steve, Janet Sutherland and husband, Duane, and Jonathan Fippinger and wife Adreane; his 21 grandchildren, Bryce Powers and wife Alanna, Beka Hand and husband Christian, Aubrey, Bethany and Sadie Powers, Hadassah, Karyssah, Joshua, Micah, Zechariah, Elisha, Taliah and Lydiah Cheek, Eleanor, Henry, Lucy, and Patricia Lynn Hurtle, Blake Sutherland and wife Raegen, Maryssa Jones and husband Griffin, and Addison and Olivia Fippinger; his great-granddaughter, Emelia Powers and anticipated arrival of Baby Jones; brothers Bruce Fippinger and Carol, and Dale Fippinger and wife Melissa; his brother-in-laws Ed Swain and Bill Swain and wife, Janice; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family and many close friends.
