BRIDGPORT -- Don Austin, Sr., 71, a retired gunner's mate for the Navy, died Monday, September 4, 2006 in Bridgeport. Funeral: 10 A.M. Thursday at Hawkins Funeral Chapel. Burial: 2 P.M. Thursday at D/FW National Cemetery. Visitation: 6-8 P.M. Wednesday.
Officiators: Rev. James Arrington and Pastor Joey Vick.
Don was born in Springtown, Texas. He married LaRae (Hall) Austin on July 9, 1989 in Bridgeport, Texas. He was a member of the Family Worship Center.
Don was preceded in death by his father, Fred Austin; his brother, Woody Austin; and a grandson, Don Austin III.
Survivors: wife: LaRae Austin of Bridgeport; daughter: Eva Dee Lorenz of Rio Linda, California; son: Don E. Austin, Jr. and wife Sandra of Chico; Step Daughters: Lera Calhoun and husband Dean of Katy, Texas, Kay Weaver and husband Johnny of Katy, Texas; Stepsons:, Jeff Struthers, Cliff Coan; 16 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; mother: Sue Smith; 1 brother, Ted Austin; 2 sisters, Mary Ann Austin and Evelyn Austin.
Pallbearers will be: Johnny Triplett, Taylor Calhoun, Coy Tackett, Doug Hughes, Stephen Calhoun, and Sidney fallin. Honorary Pallbearer will be Jeff Struthers.
