Delbert William Paige

Decatur ~ Delbert William Paige, 68, a truck driver, went to be with our Lord Monday, September 1, 2014 in Decatur.

Funeral is 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 4, 2014 at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Oaklawn Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Pastor Heath Flowers and Pastor Floyd Flowers will officiate. Pallbearers include Robert White, David White, Brian Armstrong, James Yeager, Roy Turner, and Bobby Thompson.

Delbert proudly served his country by serving in the US Army, he enlisted on February 25, 1966. He re-enlisted on November 7, 1968 and was honorably discharged on February 24, 1972.

Delbert was born on April 3, 1946 to William and Lois (Biggers) Paige in Washington. He met his wife in spring of 1983. Delbert was united in marriage to Kathey White on May 22, 1983 in Decatur, together they raised 6 children. He was a truck driver for delivery distribution company. His hobbies included wood-working, ceramics, acrylic painting, and sculpting cowboys. Delbert was a Pentecostal. He was loved by his family and will be missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Dave Frazier.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Kathey Paige of Decatur; his son, Kevin Massey of Elizabeth City, North Carolina; his daughters, Sommer Paige of Shreveport, Louisiana, Desiree Metzger of San Francisco, California, Nashay Thompson of Ardmore, Oklahoma, Lily Paige of Decatur, and Daisy Paige of Decatur; 9 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; his sister, Lois Dunn of Grand Junction, Colorado; his brother, Dale Frazier of California; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
