David Lee Freeman, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and successful businessman, passed away on June 5, 2023, while residing in Granbury, Texas.
David was born on September 26, 1944, to Vernon and Geneva Freeman in Boyd, Texas.
David is survived by his wife, Elaine Carter-Freeman. His kids and grandchildren, Mike, Cari and Abbi Freeman, Reilly, Heather and Hazel Freeman, Lori, Jeff and Carson Kirkhuff, Madison and Tommy Renouard and Hannah and Tyler Hagan.
He was blessed with wonderful parents and siblings, Vernon and Geneva Freeman, George and Mitzi Freeman and family, Hal and Gloria Freeman and Family, Dorothy and Wayne Webb and family, Wanda and Wayne Rose and family.
His extended family members were very special to him as well. He leaves behind Janis Gallagher, Kenneth and Kelli Moore, Greg and Toma Caul, David Lee and Frank and Chris Lee.
David's legacy will also live on through countless others close family members, beloved friends and Steele & Freeman,Inc.
David attended Boyd High School before continuing his studies at the University of Houston where he received his degree in civil engineering. He was passionate about pursuing a career in business and was determined to succeed.
David founded Steele & Freeman, Inc. in 1979. He became a respected business leader and served as a source of inspiration for many. His tremendous work ethic and unwavering commitment to excellence were instrumental in his success.
David was always eager to lend a helping hand to those in need, making a positive impact in the lives of many. He was known for his friendly personality and remarkable ability to connect with people from all walks of life.
David cherished his family above all else. He was a man of integrity, honor, and kindness who loved all those close to him. His passing is deeply felt by all who knew and loved him.
David Freeman will be missed, but his legacy will live on through the countless individuals he touched throughout his life.
Pallbearers for the service are Carson Kirkhuff, Reilly Freeman, Dean Freeman, Nick Blake, Garrett Blake and Brandon McNeill.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM on Friday, June 9, 2023 at Hawkins Funeral Home located at 405 E. Main Street, Decatur, Texas 76234. The funeral will be held on Saturday, June 10, 2023 at 10 AM at the same location, Hawkins Funeral Home.
