Danny Cooper

Boyd ~ Danny Cooper, 71, a retired paint and body technician, went to be with our Lord October 24, 2018, in Carrollton.

Funeral is 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel Boyd. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Rev. J.H. Roper will officiate.

Danny was born on June 12, 1947, to Nelson and Emily (Barr) Cooper in Mattoon, Illinois. Danny retired as a paint and body technician. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. Danny was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his granddaughters, Emily and Katlyn; the love of his life, Linda Hatley; his sister, Linda Zimmerman; and his brothers, Jerry, Gary, Paul, and Pete Cooper.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his daughter, Alinda Cole and husband Allen of Allen; his step-daughter, Staci Sanders and husband Ray of Boyd; his four grandchildren, Nathan Cole, Stachia Splawn, Morgan Elliott and Kody Mann; his great-grandchildren, Rylen, Conner, Corben, Audrie, Thea, Landyn and Addison; his life-long best friend, Ronald Rushing; his faithful K9 companion, Nacho; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
