Castroville ~ Curtis Morgan Tinar, 83, formerly of Bridgeport, passed away at his home in Castroville, Texas February 15, 2019.
Graveside service is 11 AM Monday at West Bridgeport Cemetery. Family will receive friends at 10 AM Monday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Bridgeport.
Morgan was born July 4, 1935 in Ft. Worth, Texas to Charles Morgan Tinar and Ada Crownover Tinar. He graduated from Poly High School in Ft. Worth, Texas. He married Anamary Pate on May 10, 1956 in Bridgeport, Texas.
Morgan served in the Army and Army reserves during their first few years of marriage. Morgan enjoyed playing softball as well in his younger years. He was a JC Penney executive for many years which led to moving from city to city with his family. He decided to become self-employed in the late 70’s and settle in one place, and he loved the San Antonio area. He moved his family to Castroville, Texas in 1978. In their later years he and Anamary traveled the country selling soups and dips at large craft shows and enjoyed their travels. They were blessed with 62 years of marriage and two children, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Morgan was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Rolinda Tinar Hans and his brother-in-law, Tex Brown.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 62 years, Anamary; his son Mark (Joan) Tinar; his son-in-law Douglas Hans, all of Castroville; grandchildren, Lacy (Paige) Bishop, Dillon Hans, Paiten (Jordin) Tinar, Landen (Jordan) Tinar and Tristen Tinar; great-grandchildren Whitley and Pate Bishop; sisters Margie “Sal” (Marvin) Howeth of North Richland Hills, Honey “Sue” (Ed) Reese of Crowley and Velma “Joy” Brown of Crowley; numerous nieces and nephews.
