Curtis Small

Curtis Leroy Small, 70, passed from this earth Friday, August 16th, 2024 in North Richland Hills, Texas.

Celebration of Life is 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 14th at Decatur Civic Center in Decatur. Cody Jones will officiate.

Curtis was born September 16th, 1953 to Albert and Dortha (McKeever) Small in Irving, Texas. He was united in marriage July 2nd, 1984 to Margie Ann O’Brien in Torrington, Wyoming. Curtis proudly served our country in the United States Army. He was a retired Radio Engineer after many years with Union Pacific as Ballast Operator. Curtis graduated Trinity High School and was a member of Fort Laramie Country Church. He worked for the Wyoming State Penitentiary as a correctional officer. After retiring from the railroad he loved working for dad on our 7000 acre ranch checking water, feeding and gathering cattle on horseback. Curtis loved to go hunting and fishing and he and Margie enjoyed going on vacations together across the country.  He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many who will dearly miss him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Dortha Small.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 40 years, Margie Small; his sons, Shawn McCoy of Wyoming, Cody Jones of Roanoke, and Shane Small of Weatherford; his daughters, Krista Garcia of McKinney, and Tanya Jones of Weatherford; 6 grandchildren, Hunter Wood, River Wood, Mikala McCoy, Bristol Wood, Ena Holman, and Taylin Wood; extended family and a host of friends.
