Boyd - Coy Lee Newby, 73, went to be with our Lord Saturday, December 31, 2022 in Dallas.

Funeral Service will be 2 pm Saturday at First Baptist Church in Boyd with burial at Boyd Cemetery. Family will receive friends 12 – 2 pm prior to the service at the church.

Rev. Joe Lieb will officiate. Pallbearers will be Marty Cain, Russell Black, Bryson Cain, Garin Black, Morgan Cain, Dustin Russell, Sam Lee, and Carl Williams. Honorary pallbearers are Brent Wilson, Michael Burch, Lynn Cordell and Paul Deaton.

Coy was born October 29, 1949 to Wessie Coy and Ruth (Haygood) Newby in Decatur, Texas. He was united in marriage to Evelyn Lee Dean on December 31, 1974 in Keeter Texas at the Baptist Church. Coy was a welder for Young Tank Trucks and a beloved husband, father, and a grandfather of 2 generations and a friend.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and son, Wessley Newby.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 48 years, Evelyn Newby of Boyd; 2 daughters, Laurie Black and husband Russell of Saginaw, and Amanda Cain and husband Marty of Boyd; 5 grandchildren, Kendall Newby and Dustin Russell, Morgan Cain, Bryson Cain, Garin Black and Claire Black; 1 great granddaughter, Charlotte Russell; other relatives and a host of friends.
