Decatur ~ Clyde Meryl Sherman, 80, a retired driller, went to be with our Lord Wednesday, April 1, 2015 in Decatur.
Funeral is 3:00 p.m. Friday, April 3, 2015 at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Pleasant Grove #1 Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday and 1-3 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Pastor Brandon Henderson will officiate. Pallbearers include Adrian Martinez, Sean Sherman, Nathan Holt, Francisco Cardenas, Tracy Sherman and Tim Sherman.
Clyde was born on November 25, 1934 to Floyd and Diola Sherman in Altus, Oklahoma. He was a retired driller in the oilfield.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Louise Sherman; 3 brothers; his son, William Floyd Sherman.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his sons, David Sherman and wife Sabrina of Lovington, New Mexico, Tony Sherman and wife Lynn of Decatur, Carl Sherman and wife Rhonda of Caddo Mills, Texas, and Bobby Sherman of Lovington, New Mexico; his daughter, Thresa Swaim and husband Terry of Stanley, New Mexico; 16 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; his brother, Dwayne Sherman; his sister, Bera Faye Louis; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
