Clinton Syl Dennis

Bridgeport ~ Clinton Sylvester Dennis, was greeted with open arms by his Heavenly family, Monday, May 7, 2018 at his blessed age of 89.

Graveside is 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 12, 2018 at West Bridgeport Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Bridgeport.

Jack McAsey will officiate.

Clinton was born on February 7, 1929 in Saint Jo, Texas. He was the last survivor of the 8 children born to William and Hattie Dennis. He was united in marriage to Virginia Forsyth on November 29, 1975 in Bridgeport. Clinton and wife Frances, who passed in 1972, moved to Bridgeport in 1961 with their 5 children. He was employed and retired from George Mitchell Oil and Gas/Devon after 25 years. He enjoyed his later years with wife Virginia, who passed in 2007. He had a love for fishing and beating his son-in-law, Tim in dominoes. However, Clinton’s greatest love was for his family who are left behind to cherish his memory.

The surviving members of his family are his children, James Dennis of Nevada, Clinton Lee Dennis of Bridgeport, W.A. (Red) Dennis and wife Cathy of Bridgeport, Mary Carter and husband Tim of Brock, Penny Andrew and husband Jack of Bridgeport, brother in law, Larry Busby of Saint Jo; sister-in-law, Helen Dennis of Azle; sister-in-law Mrs. Richard Dennis of Denton; cousins, Loyd Hutson and wife Margie of Valley View; Sheryl Hughes, wife of the late Celtyn Hughes of Mansfield; Mike Hughes and wife Dianne of Whitesboro. G-PA’s love will be greatly missed by his15 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandson; and many wonderful and loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
