Charlotte Lucille Pitts

Charlotte Lucille Pitts, born Charlotte Lucille Ferguson, passed away on September 8, 2026, in Boyd, Texas. She was born on July 20, 1933, in Boyd, and remained closely tied to the community that was both her birthplace and her home throughout her life.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 14, 2026, at Hawkins Funeral Home in Boyd. Burial will be at Boyd Cemetery.

Charlotte graduated from Boyd High School and went on to build a life centered on her family. She was a devoted homemaker, wife, and mother, and she gave her care and attention to those she loved most. She was a devout Christian whose faith was an important part of her life. Charlotte also loved spending time with her family and friends, and those moments together brought her great happiness.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Pitts, and by her daughter, Susan Burkett.

Charlotte’s memory will be cherished by her son, Charles A. “Buddy” Pitts, and by her grandson, Benjamin Shawn Burkett. She leaves behind the love of her family and the example of a life marked by devotion, faith, and care for others.

Charlotte will be remembered with love by those who knew her, and her presence will be deeply missed.
