Charlotte Ann Wood

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Charlotte Ann Wood. Charlotte passed peacefully surrounded by her family and loved ones.

Charlotte Ann Roberts Wood was born to William Duval Roberts and Sarah Elmore Roberts. She came from a large and loving family and carried that love throughout her life. She was the cherished daughter of the late William and Sarah Roberts and was deeply connected to her family roots throughout Virginia, Maryland, New York, and Texas.

On November 29, 1996, Charlotte married Thomas Franklin Wood in Wise County, Texas, beginning a life together built on love, loyalty, and strength. Charlotte was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who always put her family first.

Charlotte is survived by her loving husband, Thomas Wood; her son, Shawn Wood; and her grandsons, Colton and Maverick Wood, along with many extended family members and loved ones who will miss her dearly.

Those who knew Charlotte will remember her caring heart, her strength through difficult times, and the love she gave so freely to everyone around her. Her presence brought comfort and warmth, and she leaves behind countless memories that will never be forgotten.

Our family is deeply grateful for the prayers, support, and kindness shown during this difficult time. Please continue to keep our dad and family in your thoughts and prayers.

Charlotte Ann Wood, 82, of Decatur passed peacefully surrounded by family and loved ones on Tuesday, May 5th, 2026.

Charlotte Roberts was born February 23, 1944 to William Duval and Sarah (Elmore) Roberts in Lawrenceville, Virginia. She completed 12th grade and went on to work in hairdressing. Charlotte very much enjoyed gardening and birdwatching too. She married Thomas Franklin Wood November 29, 1996 in Decatur, Texas.

Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 29 years, Thomas Wood; her son, Shawn Wood and his wife Haley; and her grandsons, Colton and Maverick Wood.
