Charles Wendell Worthington, 87,of Aurora a retired auditor, passed away Thursday, July 11, 2013.
Funeral is 10 a.m. Tuesday at Aurora Baptist Church. Interment: Aurora Cemetery. Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Monday at Coker Hawkins Funeral Home.
Rev. Jimmy Withers will officiate assisted by Randy Slimp. Pallbearers: Steve Solomon, Terry Solomon, Kris Howard, Kevin Howard, Bradley Adcock, Ronnie Shockey, Mickey Reid and Kyle Copp. Wendell was born on December 1, 1925 to Earnest and Ida (Greer) Worthington in Irene, Texas. He served his country in the U.S. Navy and married Mary Lou Isett on December 17, 1947. Wendell graduated from T.C.U. in 1950 and served on the Northwest I.S.D. School Board thru the 1960's and 1970's. He was an auditor for T.U. Electric for 38 years. Wendell was a member of the Aurora Baptist Church.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Mary Worthington; sons, Donny Worthington and wife Peggy, Mike Worthington and wife Mona; daughter, Lynn Snead and husband Scott; brother, Alvin Worthington and wife Barbara; grandchildren, Macy, David, John, Carly, Mary, and Josh; great grandchildren, Molly, Haley, Lilly, Kendall, Wyatt, and Emery; other relatives and a host of friends.
